Today
almost 9 years ago – Fri, Apr 21, 2017 at 04:58:36 PM

Today is my mom's birthday and also my step dad died today. So, uh, while I will still do my best to get things shipping out like I said I would, I'm gonna be a bit distracted and other things will have to take priority. I expect I'll be able to get more work done tonight when everyone else is asleep.

Surveys have gone out!
almost 9 years ago – Wed, Apr 19, 2017 at 10:00:02 PM

The BackerKit surveys have gone out. They're pretty self explanatory, but can sometimes be confusing, so if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask me.

I'm going to give everyone a few days to fill out the survey (if you don't fill it out by then, don't worry, you'll still get your game, it'll just go out out once you do fill out your survey). The PDFs will go out after then and arrive immediately, being digital and all, as will the softcover codes (which means your softcover will start getting printed as soon as you use the code). I'm going to hold off on sending out the hardcover codes until my proof of the hardcover arrives, on the slim chance that they need to be revised at all - I don't want you to get a copy that has printing errors!

I'll send the completed list of who all wants hot sauce to Dane at the same time I send out the PDFs. This part is important that you fill out the survey quickly, so that Dane knows how big of a batch of hot sauce to make. I'll also ship any add ons you get, like our first two games, Professor Pugnacious and Cultists of Cthulhu, at the same time.

Thank you for all of your support! I can't wait to get this game into your hands. If you ever see me at a con, I would love to hear your tales of murder and deception!

We made it!
almost 9 years ago – Sat, Apr 01, 2017 at 07:51:38 PM

We did it! Thank you all for your support. I'm really eager to get this game into your hands, and in about two weeks we will do that!

Here's how this is going to work: it'll take about two weeks for Kickstarter to process the funds. During that time, I'll be working on finishing up the insane asylum stretch goal scenario, formatting the book, and ordering a proof copy (like the ones in the video and pictures, except with the extra scenarios added in).

After the two weeks, I'll post an update and send out the backerkit survey. You'll fill out the survey, and then receive an email with a link to get your copy of Murder Most Foul at printing cost plus s&h. You'll also receive an email with the pdf of the book. If you order any other physical product, such as the hot sauce or our other games, Professor Pugnacious and Cultists of Cthulhu, you'll receive those in the mail a bit after that - about a week for the games, or a bit longer for the hot sauce.

If you have any questions, please let me know! I'm really looking forward to getting this game in your hands and hearing how your mysteries turn out. Thank you again for your support, and happy gaming!

Only 45 hours left, and we have a clear winner for the bonus scenario
about 9 years ago – Sat, Apr 01, 2017 at 02:11:42 PM

Nearly all of you have voted, and there is a clear winner for the extra scenario: the insane asylum. The perfect place for a murder: isolated, inherently dangerous, and with too many suspects to name. It's clear why this appeals!

If you want to contribute to this scenario, by making up guests, the host, the detective, or writing a food or drink recipe, please do so by commenting on this update!

And, if you feel like spreading the word and getting some more folks to enjoy the pleasures of murdering and being murdered, now would be the ideal time to do so. Thank you for all your support!

Stretch Goal: New Scenario poll!
about 9 years ago – Tue, Mar 28, 2017 at 08:58:16 AM

We've got the submissions in, so here is the poll for what new scenario to add! The poll will close when the campaign ends in 9 days, and then I'll have 1-2 weeks to write it and add it to the book before Kickstarter sends me the funds and the book goes to the printers. Get voting!
